Overseas

A significant proportion of our purchases are for expatriates located predominantly in the Middle East and Asia, and to a lesser extent in the UK and the USA.

The intention behind your purchase may be to secure a property which will be your home on return to Australia or, alternatively, it could be for investment purposes.

In securing the right property, we essentially follow the procedure outlined in The Purchase Process for both our local and overseas Clients.

We understand how difficult it can be purchasing a property 'unseen' and will provide whatever additional information is required to provide you with the necessary confidence to proceed. This may take various forms including:

  • A substantial number of additional photographs (often aspects of the property identified as requiring further clarification).
  • The measurements of rooms, or the distances from the house to side or rear boundaries.
  • Photos and/or descriptions of the adjoining properties.

We also encourage our Clients to have a family member inspect the property and will arrange an inspection time to suit them.

Naturally, we can assist you with the 'mechanics' of how a purchase from overseas is best facilitated. But the main issues that need to be addressed include the payment of the deposit and creating a limited power of attorney for someone to sign the documents on your behalf.

Put simply, our objective is to provide as much information as possible to enable you to move forward with total confidence.
